Creating Benchmade’s long-lasting knives and innovations requires ongoing collaboration with skilled craftsmen, designers and blacksmiths. One of the most fruitful collaborations has been with Bill McHenry and Jason Williams, renowned custom knifemakers with a background in watchmaking who describe their work as “art with a blade.” McHenry and Williams are also responsible for developing Benchmade’s revolutionary AXIS® locking mechanism for the first 710 knife in 1999.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the AXIS® lock, Benchmade introduces the new 710FE-24 model, featuring the same large body and powerful cutting ability as the original — but with even more refinement. The knife features a sleek drop-point blade with a curved cutting profile and tough CPM S90V steel with an FDE PVD coating. The 710FE-24 model features an ultra-lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum handle with a gray anodized finish, a machined FDE PVD spacer barrel, pocket clip and pivot ring, as well as a satin-finished thumb stud and AXIS® lock.
This anniversary edition pays homage to its original designers, McHenry and Williams, and represents 25 years of AXIS® lock heritage.
Features:
• Blade: CPM S90V steel, FDE PVD coating
• Blade profile: Drop-point and curved cutting profile
• Handle: 6061-T6 aluminum, gray anodizing
• Details: Milled FDE PVD standoffs, pocket clip, pivot ring
• Locking mechanism: AXIS® locking, designed by McHenry and Williams
This 710FE-24 is the perfect combination of classic design and modern technology, celebrating the 25-year history of the iconic AXIS® locking mechanism.
