The Airborne Charging Handle (ACH) was developed at the request of an elite organization known for its expertise in airborne operations. The organization required a low-profile linkage to reduce the risk of snagging. The ACH's lower profile makes it particularly ideal for rifles where the primary sighting system is a red dot sight or other low-profile optical system.
The ACH on both sides is 3D-machined from a single piece of aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum. The shortened levers are double-formed and feature slightly concave cuts in both the vertical and horizontal directions. The textured surface of the lever areas ensures safe use even with gloves. The raised lip on the rear edge of the ACH helps control the direction of gas recoil when firing short barrels and suppressed weapon systems.
The ACH and its parts are anodized with Type 3 Hardcoat, and the colors are Black and DDC (Desert Dirt Color).
